CBRE believes a core strategy to accelerate the growth of its thriving Industrial & Logistics (I&L) business is to offer its clients in this sector sophisticated supply chain consulting services. Towards that end, we are looking for a Manager of Supply Chain Advisory (SCA) with an emphasis on Facility Design to be a leader on this team to drive client engagements that result in both growing team revenues as well as substantial growth in the I&L business.
Who Are You?
You are supply chain-savvy and stay up to date on logistics trends. While you are fluent in areas such as network design, warehouse management, inventory management and labor management, your passion and expertise are in the design and layout of warehouses, distribution and fulfillment centers.
You have several years of experience in industrial engineering, lean six sigma design and operations management. You understand and can effectively communicate the drivers of different design features and options, including the applicability and use of various types of material handling equipment and automation. While most of your career has been hands-on design, you have also led or supported sales of facility design projects.
You may have obtained this experience at a material handling equipment company, a boutique supply chain consulting firm, a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, or a supply chain consulting practice at a major management consulting firm.
You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, sometimes ambiguous work environment. You are both "big picture" strategic and detail-oriented. You equally enjoy interacting with clients, teammates, and other members of the CBRE team. You can work independently, with minimal direction and are a self-directed and motivated individual. You can also lead a team and share your knowledge and experiences.
A Day (or Week) in The Life
You focus on the successful delivery of SCA facility design projects for CBRE I&L clients. This will entail the following:
Overall project management, including sales, project scope, schedule, cost, and project execution meeting client expectations.
Ensuring ongoing alignment of project objectives and expectations between the client, their I&L broker-sponsors, SCA leadership and project team members.
Execution of timely and relevant project communications among all relevant stakeholder groups.
Development of high-quality deliverables that deliver upon project objectives.
Manage project risk during all phases of the project lifecycle, by proactively identifying potential emerging issues and raising concerns with leadership.
Foster a fun, challenging and collaborative work environment for your project teams that enhances team morale and motivates the team to high performance.
You support SCA management with the sales of facility design projects through your deep understanding of this supply chain subject.
You work with SCA colleagues to prepare facility design project proposals and lead in the delivery of these sold project proposals to clients.
You work with SCA colleagues to prepare other types of consulting project proposals and assist in their delivery to the client.
You support SCA leaders who work with real estate professionals to identify potential supply chain consulting opportunities with their clients.
You support the SCA leadership team in the development and refinement of team infrastructure as we look to continuously improve the practice. Elements of this infrastructure include: project methodologies, tools and techniques, thought leadership, marketing materials, management and reporting templates, case studies, project tools and templates and education materials for internal and external clients.
Qualifications and Experience of the Successful Candidate:
